Well, it has certainly been a while since I have posted here - I could give excuses "until the cows come home" but instead, I'm going to share a newly completed space in my home!
I grew up on dairy farm and have a fondness for cows. Now, it seems that cows are a decorating trend! Yay! I have wanted some cow artwork for my dining room/kitchen area and have searched high and low for something that I loved and in my price range.
I finally found a photographer with a shop on Etsy that had just the right cows for my space - Lucy Snowe Photography! Lucy's work is amazing and I fell in love with a few of her cow photographs. I finally narrowed down my choices to this one as my favorite and placed my order.
I received my beautiful print very quickly and was so surprised that Lucy so generously sent along a smaller complimentary cow print! I ended up having the larger print cut down to match the size of the smaller print and had both framed in matching antiqued silver frames.
I've been trying the prints out in different places and really wanted to hang them together. I decided to hang them vertically on a narrow wall that connects the dining room area to the living room. The only problem is that I wanted to find a small piece of furniture to place below the artwork.
I've literally searched for months to find just what I was looking for. Each trip to a thrift store, used furniture store, Homegoods, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx - I looked for something that would work in this space to compliment my cow artwork. Finally, last week, I walked into TJ Maxx to pick up a candle, and I saw this high on a shelf.
It was love at first sight! An aged metal chest with wood and leather accents! What makes it even nicer, is it's storage function. I brought the chest home and it looked great, but needed a little something more to give it more height.
Three pillow covers later from Pottery Barn Outlet and I am happy with the look. The pillow covers were 9.97 each - found on the clearance rack! I already had the pillow forms at home.
Please take a moment to stop by Lucy Snowe Photography on Etsy. Her work is beautiful and her prices are very reasonable!
Lucy, I've promised to show you your photography in my home - it's taken a while, but want to say "Thank You"! I love them!
