I'm popping in today with a quick post for a spring flower arrangement that is super easy. You just need three things - a straight cylinder glass container (I got mine at Walmart), eggs (real eggs - not hard boiled), tulips. That's it.
You simply start at the bottom of your glass container and place eggs around the perimeter only. Leave the center open. Now add another layer of eggs. Continue on until you have about four layers. They stack really easily and stay in place well because the container is straight.
Add water and arrange your tulips in the center opening. It's that easy. Always give your fresh flowers a cut on the angle when arranging. I like the white tulips with the white eggs, but you could use any color tulips. As I was taking pictures my tulips began to open - actually they opened really quickly. They are pretty either way!

OK - silly question but I'm guessing those are artificial eggs right? LOL Either way, I love the your arrangement. Clydia

So pretty! I love tulips and the eggs are a fun touch! I am definitely ready for a little spring around here!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThis confuses me. I agree that it's pretty, but it looks like you have more than a dozen eggs in there. Eggs are not shelf stable, and they ARE porous-- so certainly these eggs could not be reused. I think it would not take long before you had to deal with a very distinct "rotten egg" smell. Kind of wasteful, when so many are hungry.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, the eggs can't be re-used. I made an arrangement like this last year and had it out for at least five days - basically until the tulips began to drop petals, and I didn't have any rotten egg smell.
DeleteThat looks so pretty and spring like--love it!
ReplyDeleteOh I love tulips! So pretty and beautiful. I love the vase and the addition of eggs - I would have never thought of that.
ReplyDeletePretty!

Using artificial eggs would eliminate any need to be concerned over any smell. I will certainly use artificial;who could tell in this arrangement?
