Stenciled Wall and a Sneak Peak

Thursday, January 17, 2013

Today I wanted to share a project I completed before Christmas.  I entered a giveaway over at DIY by Design for Cutting Edge Stencils and I won!   I had looked at the Cutting Edge site when I entered the giveaway and knew which stencil I wanted to order with my $50 prize - the Anna Damask Stencil.  I used it to create a focal wall in my dining room.

For the background I used Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray and for the stenciled area, I used Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter.   I painted the remaining walls in the dining room/kitchen in Revere Pewter.

My dining room/kitchen is a work in progress right now.  I sold my colonial tin chandelier and lantern light fixtures on Craigslist and replaced them with new Pottery Barn lighting, which I will share with you soon.  I have curtains to make, countertop to replace, would love a new stove, brassy gold door hardware to replace, and my least favorite thing to do - painting my oak kitchen cabinets.  Before Christmas I picked up a dining room table and chair set at a yard sale for $45.  It was in really bad shape, but I loved the table and it had a lot of leaves.    Here's a sneak peak of the table so far.

I'm hoping to finish it this weekend - so stay tuned for the big reveal!

  3. Your stenciled wall is gorgeous!!! I'd love to try that on my guest bathroom, but I'm not sure I'm that brave yet! Love the colors you used, too! Can't wait to see the rest of the room, sounds like it is coming together beautifully!
